Today our route leads from Cape Town over Sir Lowry’s Pass, where at the highest point we enjoy a wonderful view over the whole of False Bay. We continue through the magnificent fruit and wine-growing regions of Grabouw & Elgin.
In a nice, typical farm-stall restaurant there is an opportunity for a light second breakfast. Past Theewaterskloof we continue to Villiersdorp, then into the Robertson Wine Valley.
Here we first visit the Viljoensdrift wine estate and, on request, take a little picnic boat trip on the Breede River. In Robertson we experience a wine tasting at another wine estate. As a little highlight right at the start of our tour we stay in a first-class 5* hotel. For dinner you are at the hotel’s own famous gourmet restaurant.
Overnight stay + breakfast in a 5* hotel in Robertson
Before we leave Robertson, there is an opportunity to buy wine to take “home” at an excellent wine boutique. Then we set off and stop at the renowned MCC producer Graham Beck to treat ourselves to a champagne/MCC tasting.
Then at the beautiful Springfield wine estate we taste the award-winning Sauvignon Blancs & Chardonnays. Now we continue through the magnificent wine valleys to the nice town of Tulbagh. In its surroundings we have the opportunity to get to know olive and wine growing more closely.
Overnight stay + breakfast in a 5* country house in Tulbagh
Today we first travel via the historic town of Riebeek Kasteel in the Riebeek Valley. Here we admire the lovely general stores and marvel at the traditional crafts.
Our journey now continues past the Cederberg. We reach Citrusdal, the centre of orange and lemon growing. Via Clanwilliam we now head for the absolute highlight of our tour, a dreamlike 5* luxury wilderness reserve & wellness retreat, one of the best hotels in Africa.
Overnight stay in the 5* luxury wilderness & wellness retreat
In this wonderful game and nature reserve we spend a wonderfully relaxed day. We enjoy the incredible peace and the fascinating atmosphere.
We go on a nature and game drive through this unique surrounding with its constantly changing landscapes. With a little luck we discover a wide variety of animals such as antelope, kudu, zebras, buck and birds as well as the typical plants of the area.
On request we hike to the caves, where we admire the roughly 6,000-year-old paintings of the Bushmen. We enjoy the rest of the day with the amenities of this indescribably beautiful luxury lodge.
Overnight stay again in the 5* luxury wilderness & wellness retreat
We leave the wilderness retreat and drive to Lambert’s Bay. This little town lies right on the water. At our uniquely interesting accommodation by the sea we have the opportunity to cater for ourselves.
We will, for example, grill fresh fish for you (or together with you…) and prepare some tasty side dishes. In a completely relaxed atmosphere we enjoy the afternoon and evening. Beautiful shells can be collected on the beach here…
Overnight stay on a guest farm in Lambert’s Bay
Today we travel along the coast and past large “rooibos tea plantations” to our next accommodation, also right on the water. We reach the idyllic fishing village of Paternoster.
In one of its well-known cosy restaurants we best enjoy the delicious fish specialities. Time at your own disposal, for example on the beach.
Overnight stay in Paternoster in a 5* boutique hotel
Today our route leads from Paternoster first to West Coast National Park. The park is known above all for its wealth of bird species. In summer it is home to about 750,000 birds, especially migratory birds from the northern hemisphere.
The coast of West Coast National Park has very nutrient-rich waters, which is reflected in the large number of fish species that attract the flocks of birds. With a little luck we will also spot antelope, kudu, zebras, springbok and wildebeest in the fynbos.
After these unforgettable experiences in nature we continue along the coast to Cape Town. At Bloubergstrand we enjoy the great postcard view of Table Mountain once more. Now it is back to Cape Town.
We would gladly book you a nice 4* accommodation in Cape Town for your stay before and/or after the tour. On request we also take care of your transfer from and to Cape Town airport.
If you extend your stay in Cape Town, a follow-on programme is a good idea, for example with various day tours in and around Cape Town or a tour along the Garden Route combined with a safari.
